OUR PREFERRED RODENT DEFENSE
How The Bug Master technicians ensure your house is rodent-free with minimal disruption.
Inspection
Identify rodent species and type of damage. How have the rodents gotten into the structure?
Trapping
Rodent extermination means traps. We set traps and monitor every 3 to 7 days and make at least four trips to ensure the infestation is eliminated.
Exclusion
After the removal is well underway, the structure should be secured. This protects your home from future rodents getting in. All roof vents, roof pipes, gable vents, and any other areas where they can enter need to be sealed.
Common Questions
Everything Central Texas homeowners want to know before they call.
Bait can work, but a poisoned rodent often dies inside a wall or attic, and that leaves a dead-rodent smell you can’t reach. We trap instead so we can remove the rodents, confirm they’re gone, and keep that smell out of your home.
We start with a free inspection to find where the rodents are nesting and how they’re getting in. Then we set traps and check them every 3 to 7 days, with at least four tech visits. While we trap, we seal the entry points so new rodents can’t replace the ones we catch.
We seal the gaps they use with steel wool, wire mesh, caulk and foam, including around roof vents, pipes and gable vents. We also recommend trimming trees back 4 to 6 feet from the house. A rodent can squeeze through a hole the size of a dime, so the small gaps matter.

Call us. Rodent droppings are about the size of a grain of rice, and finding them usually means rodents are already nesting nearby. Rodents can also carry Salmonella, so it’s best not to wait. Your free inspection will tell us how many there are and how they’re getting in.
